Social Projects

The Overhead Gallery is committed to social projects. Every year the Overhead Gallery organizes artconnection münster in the spacious premises of the district government of Münster. The exhibition is open to 40 professional artists, who offer works for 240 €, one third of the saleprice is donated directly to social projects. Every year three prize-winners from the circle of participating artists are chosen, and who are then granted a solo exhibition in Münster.

The artconnection is firmly anchored in the cultural life of Münster. Over the past three years more than 30,000 visitors have visited the events.

Over the past four years almost € 45,000 have flowed into social projects such as Lichtblicke and AME.

Nico Klein-Allermann - one of our artists - is the founder of the organization Art meets Education - AME. We are convinced of the concept and support this social project:

"Art Meets Education is aware of its responsibilities, we help, promote and support and have done so over the long term. After three successful projects in Manila the structures on the ground are now well established today and we are getting closer and closer to our goal of self-organization. A milestone we have achieved…this milestone together with art buyers, donors and sponsors and the constant great help of a network of volunteers.

Each year, we offer different children the opportunity to finance their education through their own creativity. Our long-term goal is to expand our projects to other countries, organizing several projects in parallel. It will create a collection of works of art that will showcase the creative potential of children around the world, as well as having the power to change their lives."
